Valentine's Day is an opportunity to celebrate love of all kinds, whether it's the unconditional love of family, the instinctual reflex to help those in pain, or, perhaps most importantly, the time we spend together to return love to ourselves. Love has many dimensions and doesn't always come with a heart-shaped box of chocolates. Valentine's Day is a celebration of love, but it isn't for romantic lovers only. Valentine's Day is also a day to remember ALL the love you have in your life, which includes your wonderful family and friends. That is why I choose to spend my time with my Friends and loved ones. It encourages the younger generation to learn the folk songs and dances of Ilocos Sur. The Kannawidan Ylocos Festival is a colorful way to commemorate the glorious heritage, culture, and tradition of Kannawidan. It is meant to celebrate the special occasions and feelings in our lives with our loved ones. This festival plays an important role in giving structure to our social lives as well as connecting us to our families and origins. They provide distraction from our day to day, tedious tasks and inspire us to remember the important things and moments in life. This festival was established to pass on legends, knowledge, and traditions to the next generation. This festival is an important part of our culture.
